North Warwickshire’s MP has teamed up with the Borough Council and Atherstone Job Centre plus to organise a local Jobs Fair, taking place in the Memorial Hall at 11am-3pm on Friday 7th October.
The event is open to all job seekers in the area offering opportunities for new career paths, job opportunities and apprenticeships.
Local Member of Parliament, Craig Tracey commented:
“All residents are welcome to attend to find new job opportunities in our region. I am delighted that we have secured some exciting businesses showcasing genuine job and apprentice vacancies for residents. It is really positive that we are one of the best areas for employment in the country, but it’s important not to take that for granted and to support those currently seeking work.”
Leader of North Warwickshire Borough Council, Cllr David Humphreys said:
“The Council is proud of its excellent record in attracting jobs into the area from some of the biggest and best companies in the country. In order to make sure that as many local residents as possible have the opportunity to access these jobs, the Council working closely with the local MP, Craig Tracey, the local Job Centre and a number of its partners have organised the jobs fair to provide a one stop shop to showcase opportunities available and speak to employers direct. In addition, help will also be at hand to help residents find the right solutions to either help them find the right job, improve their skills to increase their wages and also to provide practical help and advice to reduce their outgoings. We hope as many people as possible take up this great opportunity to access help on their doorstep”
A number of local companies such as the Post Office, Sodexo and National Express have confirmed their attendance and are looking for local people to fill job positions.
Citizens Advice Bureau will also be at the event to support residents seeking work and support for job seekers with disabilities will be provided.
No appointment is needed to attend the Jobs Fair, residents can pop into the Atherstone Memorial Hall next to the leisure complex on Long Street at any time between 11am and 3pm on the day. Information on the events can be found at www.northwarks.gov.uk
