Bedworth’s Parliamentary representative Craig Tracey has written to the Borough Council to outline his willingness to work together on the issue of illegal traveller camps in the area. The MP hit back at claims from Labour Councillors that he is unwilling to engage and suggested a new date for a meeting.
In his letter Mr Tracey explains that the original date for a meeting on the issue, organised by the Council, fell on a day that he and colleague Marcus Jones, would be in Parliament. He has instead suggested a date that he will be in the constituency.
Despite Councillors’ promises to constructively work together, no engagement over the organisation of the original meeting took place with MPs; they were simply told the date it was taking place.
Mr Tracey hopes that the Council will be able to arrange a date which suits all local stakeholders and residents.
