Local Member of Parliament, Craig Tracey MP, has welcomed the success of his recent jobs fair in Atherstone.
Held and organised in conjunction with the the Atherstone Partnership and Department for Work and Pensions the event had an estimated attendance of more than 250 people.
Craig works closely with local businesses and has long championed routes back to work and following the Jobs Fair he commented,
“ What a fantastic event we have had today. The feedback that we have received has been very positive and it was great to hear that as the day progressed, there were a number of success stories.
There was a good mix of people attending which included job seekers, those looking for a change in career or wanting to up-skill. Furthermore, we attracted a wide range of ages to come along including students from the nearby Queen Elizabeth Academy.”
On the day there were over 30 businesses and training providers represented, covering a range of industries, which included: construction, hygiene services, food retail, armed forces, police, transport and logistics, automotive and electronic manufacturing, health services, hospitality and education.
Speaking after the event, the Business Liaison officer for the Atherstone Partnership said “Seeing over 200 local job seekers attend the job fair in Atherstone last week really highlighted the need for community led activities supporting the local businesses and residents. It was inspiring to receive such positive feedback from both exhibiting businesses and attendees, and we hope through continued hard work and planning from our dedicated group of volunteers we can make this event an annual calendar highlight.”
Following the success of this event, the North Warwickshire MP has announced that he will be running further events in the coming months and details will be released in due course.
