I was delighted to recently attend the opening of a new Bedworth business on Newtown Road – Invictus at Home.
This is an Insurance, Energy and Telecoms business with a difference.
It is run by Lee Downs, a former serving member of the armed forces and has a major focus on supporting our veterans.
Invictus at Home do this by donating up to 10% profits to veteran charities in the UK.
I was impressed by Lee’s passion and his interest in hiring former members of the Armed Forces and those with disabilities.
Invictus’ Energy is also 100% environmentally friendly.
It’s really impressive to see innovative new businesses set up here in Bedworth. Much has been discussed recently about the idea of Capitalism. As a former small business owner myself, I understand the services, opportunities, competition and contribution to the local economy and jobs that businesses like this create.
It is businesses large and small that drive progression and advancement in so many different sectors.
Businesses are not just about profits, many of them take the responsibility to give back, either to their local community through sponsorship or donations or nationally to a particular cause as Invictus at Home does.
