On Thursday Bedworth residents vote in the local Borough Council elections.
I urge residents to support -
Anne Llewellyn-Nash for Heath.
Owen Reed for Bede.
Bhagwant Pandher for Poplar.
Damon Brown for Exhall.
Kyle Evans for Slough.
These local Conservative Candidates have put our community at the heart of their campaign. I have been really impressed by their dedication and work in making a difference whether that be litter-picking, reporting pot-holes, plans to improve our town centre or fighting to save our green-belt.
This is a chance to have your say on particular local issues such as waste and recycling, sports and recreation and, of great significance to a lot of local residents I speak to, planning and development of housing.
When I have been out canvasing on the doorstep with our fantastic local Conservative Candidates one of the major issues that comes up time and again is the concern for the Borough Plan. This sets out where new house building will be over the coming years in our community.
Unfortunately the current Labour Council’s Plan has been met with controversies, significant costs and delays for years, bringing great uncertainty to local people and threatening our local green-belt.
Therefore if people are unhappy with the current plans, your vote can change and directly influence them. For the first time in recent years there is a chance that Labour could lose control of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council. If they do, that would send a significant message about residents’ feelings towards the management and proposals of the Borough Plan.
