The Royal Oak in Polesworth will be holding its charity event in aid of Prostate Cancer in the evening of Saturday 7th March. Local Landlords Baz and Les have urged residents to come down and support the good cause.
Baz Machin, who himself survived prostate cancer said:
“We hope to raise a lot of money for such a good cause, but need as many people to come and support us on 7th March as possible. We will be holding an auction, quiz and raffle among other things on the night”.
Craig Tracey, local Parliamentary Candidate and supporter of Men United for Prostate Cancer UK said:
“It’s a fantastic cause in a great local pub and I would urge everyone to attend the charity night. 1 in 8 men in the UK will get prostate cancer, so events like this are vital not just to raise funds, but to increase awareness and help recognise the symptoms.”
Craig hosted his latest ‘Meet the Candidate’ pub meeting this week at The Royal Oak.
The local campaigner explained:
“I like to regularly hold these pub meetings around the constituency for residents to be able to raise local issues they have and come and have a chat in a relaxed atmosphere. Its nice to be able to talk over a pint with local people.”
