Local Conservative Candidate Craig Tracey is our new Member of Parliament after winning the North Warwickshire and Bedworth constituency with a majority of 3000 votes.
Craig Tracey, who lives locally in Shuttington near Polesworth, said:
“I would like to thank every resident who voted for me and everyone who supported me during the campaign. I will be dedicated to our community and will always put local residents first. North Warwickshire is my home, I will always be here to support local people. There are a number of local issues that we need to focus on, including fighting against HS2, supporting the George Eliot Hospital, supporting residents over planning decisions and securing a growing local economy with more job opportunities. I am convinced we have a bright future ahead of us in North Warwickshire and for our country.”
Local businessman Craig polled 20,042 votes on Thursday, a total of 42.3% of the vote. Despite North Warwickshire being Labour’s number one target seat, Craig increased outgoing MP Dan Byles’ majority from just 54 votes to nearly 3000.
Craig has run his own small business near his home for 20 years, he recently married his wife Karen who he met in Birchmoor in the constituency.
His victory helped secure a majority Conservative Government.
