Craig Tracey, the local Member of Parliament for North Warwickshire, has welcomed the news that Central Buses will extend the number 16 service to the Mill Crescent Estate in Kingsbury.
Mr Tracey had been contacted by residents over concerns over access to the service at that end of the village.
The MP explained:
“I am grateful for Kingsbury residents for bringing this to my attention. There are ongoing concerns, particularly for elderly residents, who struggle to reach the bus stop at the top of the village from the Mill Crescent Estate. I requested that Central Buses could extend the 16 bus route to stop there and I am pleased that they have agreed.”
A Central Buses Director responded to Craig’s request by stating:
‘I am pleased to advise that we have been able to fulfil this request and we will be extending our current Service 16 from its current terminus (White Swan) to serve Mill Crescent. The revised route will take effect from 4th September. It’s important to stress that this improvement to the service is very much on a 'use it or lose it' basis.’
Craig and local Cllr Andy Jenns recently held a public meeting in Kingsbury village so that residents could voice their opinions over local bus routes.
