Craig Tracey, Parliamentary Candidate for North Warwickshire & Bedworth and Dan Byles the local MP have today responded to the announcement from Jaguar Land Rover creating a further 1300 new jobs to build a new Sports Utility Vehicle model.
Craig who is standing to become the next MP in May said:
"This is fantastic news, not just for our region but for the local economyhere in North Warwickshire & Bedworth. This shows the confidence Jaguar Land Rover have in our economy and the British Car Manufacturing industry goes from strength to strength. We have also just heard that Aston Martin will be opening a vehicle development base at Mira Technology Park in Warwickshire. This is more evidence that the Conservative long-term economic plan is working locally and nationally".
Dan Byles MP commented:
"In North Warwickshire we have a strong automotive supply chain sector, with local companies who employ thousands of local people.
"JLR's announcement is a boost for all of our local companies and is the latest in a string of good news for the automotive sector, driving growth in companies such as Sertec and Brose. Unemployment continues to fall locally and our economy is on the road to recovery."
The new Jaguar SUV model will go on sale next year.
