Craig Tracey, Parliamentary Candidate for North Warwickshire and Bedworth, has challenged illegal motorcyclists on Baddesley Common.
The local campaigner said:
“A big issue of concern for local people are motorbikes being used for racing on dirt tracks on the Common. Racing on the Common is not just a nuisance and awful noise for local residents but it is an offence.
“I have contacted the local police about this issue to try to bring about a resolution and make them aware of the importance of this matter. I am pleased to say that the local police have acted immediately and have arranged an off road team to patrol the Common.”
A race track had recently been demolished recently by Merevale Estates and the police hoped that this will reduce the problem.
Craig concluded: “I would like to thank local Police Officers for their urgent handling of this. Any incidents should be reported to the police by calling 101, if you can get the registration of the vans that bring the bikes in that would be a huge help so that the police can track them. I will continue to monitor the situation to see if it has improved over the next few months.”
