Following confirmation of who will be the Parliamentary Candidates vying to be North Warwickshire and Bedworth’s next MP, it has become clear that Craig Tracey is the only one who consistently stood with the majority of residents over leaving the EU.
Last year 67% of local people voted to leave during the referendum and Craig was one of them, as MP he also voted for the triggering of Article 50 and against amendments from opposition parties to stop Brexit in Parliament.
Now Craig, the Conservative Candidate stands against a Lib Dem, Green and Labour candidate in North Warwickshire & Bedworth, as it is confirmed there will be four options on the ballot paper ahead of the vote on 8th June.
Craig Tracey said:
“I strongly believe the democratic will of the people, to leave the EU, must be respected. We have had a democratic vote and it is wrong to try to stop this. However, the Lib Dems and the Greens want another referendum because they do not agree with the result. With Labour no one really knows what Jeremy Corbyn would do except that he does not want to control immigration. Clearly I am the only person who is standing for Parliament locally who truly represents residents who overwhelmingly voted to leave on the most significant issue in a generation. Every vote for me will help to strengthen Theresa May's hand when it comes to negotiating the best deal for local people.”
Craig, who is seeking re-election following his victory in 2015 had grown frustrated with the EU’s red-tape on small firms, unwillingness to reform and wanted the UK to be able to control its own laws and borders.
