A leading global supplier of precision engineering products and services, Nasmyth Group is pleased to announce that Craig Tracey, MP for North Warwickshire and Bedworth and a member of the Business, Innovation and Skills Select Committee, visited the Group’s Head Office in Exhall, Bedworth on 13th November.
Talking of his visit, the local MP commented: “Visiting Nasmyth Group, a UK-based precision engineering group operating very successfully on an international stage, was highly informative for me. In addition to gaining new insights into how the UK manufacturing sector can make itself more competitive, I was also excited to learn about the Nasmyth Group Academy and its policy of providing training and development opportunities from apprentice level upwards.
It is great to see a local company based in Bedworth really taking the initiative and opportunity to lead the way not just here, but also on the international stage”
10% of Nasmyth Group’s employees are currently apprentices, with the number set to increase, and earlier this year the Nasmyth Academy opened its doors to graduates from European universities in response to increasing globalisation, particularly within the aerospace industry.
Chairman and CEO of Nasmyth Group, Peter Smith, added: “We were particularly delighted to welcome Mr Tracey as his constituency covers not only our Head Office but two of our businesses, Nasmyth Technologies Coventry - Chinn Ltd and Nasmyth Technologies Coventry - CE Site. There is no doubt that the success of UK PLC depends on close co-operation between Government and industry.”
