Kingsbury Primary School student Annie Bootham had a surprise visitor in local MP Craig Tracey at her school’s assembly. Mr Tracey was congratulating the 10 year old for designing the winning artwork for his Christmas cards.
Annie’s proud mum was also at the assembly to see her daughters winning entry brought to life.
The theme for this year’s competition, organised by the North Warwickshire and Bedworth MP, was ‘Helping others at Christmas’. Craig’s cards, which use Annie’s design, were sent to the Prime Minister Theresa May, other cabinet members as well as local organisations and businesses.
Craig also congratulated one of the competition runners-up Robert Rygielski, who is also a student at Kingsbury Primary School. Local children who entered the MP’s competition were given a House of Commons memento.
The local MP said Annie’s design “captured the spirit of Christmas” and invited the winner and her mum to the Houses of Parliament for a visit.
